It amazes me how so many thoughts and assumptions and conspiracy theories and comments and rumors come out each year to try and explain what happened on 9/11 2001. And though I know that it’s important for us to figure out the reasons behind, and ways to prevent it from happening again, I still also believe it’s important to remember that lives were lost in America. Innocent lives were lost. I think of the families who lost loved ones and who grieve every single year and wonder how they handle their personal loss with the public loss. Having the reminders year after year on the television and the images of it all that come flooding back. The pain for them must be so great and also for the survivors.
I am reminded of the verse in John 16:33 – Jesus’ words.
33 “I have told you these things, so that you can have peace because of me. In this world you will have trouble. But be encouraged! I have won the battle over the world.”
Yes this day was very tragic. Yes this day was full of devastation. Yes this life is full of pain. But there is a Savior who promises a better day. There is God who gives us strength. There is life that will be better than this one. If we Cling to Jesus in our pain. If we Cling to Jesus in our suffering. He will help you to persevere. He will bring you comfort and He will help you to endure.
We live for a better life that is yet to come. This world is NOT our home. Cling to Jesus.
